Dr. Danay is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and chronic illness. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology following undergraduate studies in Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, where she received the Exceptional Achievement in Undergraduate Research Award.
Dr. Danay completed advanced clinical training at UCLA’s Simms/Mann Center for Integrative Oncology, where she provided psychological support to individuals and families navigating cancer diagnoses and treatment. Her work has been recognized with honors including UCLA’s Compassion, Dedication, and Skill Award and a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Therapeutic Alliance with Women of Diverse Backgrounds.
Fluent in both English and Farsi, Dr. Danay offers therapy in both languages, with a strong emphasis on culturally responsive care. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions, including therapeutic breathwork.
Dr. Danay has a particular interest in supporting older adults, caregivers facing burnout, individuals living with chronic illness, and those experiencing grief, depression, or anxiety. She also works with couples in distress and members of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition, she provides treatment for insomnia using CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Her client-centered approach emphasizes emotional resilience, holistic healing, and meaningful growth.
